SHOLA KAYE | COMMUNICATIONS COACH, AWARD-WINNING SPEAKER & AUTHOR OF HOW TO BE A DIVA AT PUBLIC SPEAKING

Shola Kaye is a communications coach, author of How to be A DIVA at Public Speaking and an award-winning speaker who has worked, amongst many others, with Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar and the BBC. Shola helps STEM workers and technical staff, teaching them to step up, speak up and make an impact! Keynote and masterclass topics include inclusion of introverts at work, speak on your feet techniques, principles of influence and workplace empathy. Shola has a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and has spent more than 15 years as an international performer, which has been the foundation of her unique, creative and interactive approach.

Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu is a New York Attorney and Solicitor of England & Wales with broad expertise in the financial services industry, an author, public speaker and political commentator featured in mainstream and online media. A political & women’s rights activist, she also teaches intersectional feminism to female refugees and asylum seekers; scrutinizes government policies from a gender and diversity inclusion perspective; and co-organises women’s marches and social campaigns. She founded the Women in Leadership publication as a platform to drive positive change on topical issues that impact women globally through inspiring personal leadership journeys and established [email protected] to promote women & BAME leadership in the legal profession through universities and secondary schools. She is also the Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Africa committee. VANESSA VALLELY OBE | MANAGING DIRECTOR, WEARETHECITY

Vanessa is one of the UK’s most well-networked women and has provided keynotes on on a variety of career related topics for over 500 companies worldwide. Vanessa is also one of the UK’s most prominent figures in gender equality and often provides guidance and consultancy to both government and corporate organisations who are seeking to attract, develop and retain their female talent. Vanessa was awarded her OBE in June 2018 for her services to women and the economy.

At the height of her successful 25 year career in the financial services, Vanessa launched the award winning WeAreTheCity.com in 2008 as a vehicle to help women progress in their careers. WeAreTheCity.com now has over 120,000 members and provides resources/conferences/awards/jobs to women across the UK. Vanessa is the also the -founder of UK wide diversity forum Gender Networks. Gender Networks (formerly The Network of Networks) brings together diversity leaders from 85 cross sector firms to share best practice on a quarterly basis.

Vanessa is also the author of the book “Heels of Steel: Surviving and Thriving in the Corporate World” which tracks her career and shares 13 chapters of tips to succeed in the workplace.

Over the past ten years, she has been named Women in Banking & Finance’s Champion for Women, Financial News Top 100 Rising Star, The International Alliance for Women Top 100 Women globally & Brummells Top 30 London Entrepreneurs. In 2015 Vanessa was in GQ UK’s Top 100 Connected Women and the Evening Standard’s 1000 Most Influential Londoners. DANIELLE BROWN MBE | PARALYMPIC GOLD MEDALLIST

Danielle’s story is all about breaking barriers.

After becoming disabled as a teenager, Danielle realised that even in adversity we have a choice. Choose to let the things outside your control defeat you, or choose to control your response to it.

Taking up archery on her fifteenth birthday, Danielle made the Great Britain team three years later, jumping straight in as world number 1. She hung onto that position for her entire career. Danielle is a five time World Champion and 2 time Paralympic gold medallist, winning gold in Beijing 2008 and retaining her title on home soil in London 2012. She also became the first disabled person to represent England as an able-bodied competitor at the Commonwealth Games, where she won gold.

Danielle now works as a keynote speaker, trainer and coach. She specialises in helping others unlock their potential, break through barriers and achieve more. She is very passionate about helping women break through gender related barriers to achieve all that they are capable of, looking at both physical barriers and the self-imposed ones that arise in light of those.

Working with young people is an important social aspect to what Danielle does and she is passionate about helping young people develop strong foundations for success. Be Your Best Self, a children’s self-development book she has co-authored with nine year old Nathan Kai, was released in October 2019.

CARRIE SWIFT | FOUNDER, LOVE PUBLIC SPEAKING

Carrie Swift is the Founder of Love Public Speaking, a UK-based presentation skills training company with a core focus on building confidence. An international conference speaker, Carrie is an NLP practitioner, coach and public speaking expert. Carrie founded Love Public Speaking in 2016 after spending many years overcoming her own fear of public speaking in the corporate world. Her passion is helping people find confidence in speaking up in order to positively impact their life prospects.

Ronke Kokoruwe was born and grew up in Nigeria before moving to the UK to attend university. She trained as a barrister and then qualified as a solicitor after obtaining a Masters in International Environmental Law from the London School of Economics. She is an executive coach and the founder of iVerbalize, a public speaking training and coaching business. Her purpose is to encourage, equip, and empower women from all walks of life, to take the steps ‘from spectator to speaker’ and to express themselves with greater courage, clarity and confidence. ROSE CALDWELL | CEO, PLAN INTERNATIONAL UK

Rose Caldwell has over 20 years’ experience in senior roles in the not for profit sector having spent that last 10 years as Executive Director of Concern Worldwide UK.

A qualified chartered accountant by training, Rose spent the first ten years of her career in the private sector.  However, her experience as a volunteer on Raleigh International in Zimbabwe and with Concern Worldwide in Burundi the 1990’s ignited a desire and commitment to working to address inequality and poverty. During her leadership at Concern, Rose increased the organisations resources available to tackle extreme poverty and brought to the forefront Concern Worldwide (UK)’s focus on hunger and malnutrition.

Driven by her experience of working overseas with Concern Worldwide in emergency contexts, Rose also ensured that the organisation played a key role in responding to those who are worst affected by the increasing number and scale of humanitarian crises. 

Rose has previously worked as a management consultant, as the Finance Director of a mental health charity and as Assistant Director for the Refugee Housing Association.  Rose is currently on the Board of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and Chair of Trustees of the International Broadcasting Trust (IBT). Rose has three children and is actively involved in her community.

In September 2019, Rose became the CEO of Plan International UK.

NATASHA CHELL | PARTNER AND HEAD OF RISK AND COMPLIANCE, LAURA DEVINE IMMIGRATION

Natasha is a Partner and Head of Risk and Compliance at Laura Devine Immigration (LDI) in London.

With over 15 years’ experience in UK immigration law, nationality and EU free movement, Natasha is praised by legal directories for being a “polished professional with an excellent client manner, who inspires complete confidence and consistently provides well thought out advice”. She is “well known in the UK market for her impressive work handling immigration and free movement matters”.

Ugo Arinzeh Is the founder and Managing Director of London based real estate agents, Onyx Property Consultants.  She has an MBA in finance, and before coming to the UK was Senior Vice President at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch, negotiating and structuring real estate transactions on behalf of corporate clients.

Over the years Ugo has built her own residential property portfolio in the US and London.  Ugo set up Onyx in 2012 and by utilising skills from her corporate and investor background she helps local and international clients achieve their property related goals.

JASPREET KAUR | AWARD-WINNING SPOKEN WORD ARTIST & HISTORY TEACHER

Jaspreet Kaur, better known as Behind the Netra for her poetry, is an award-winning Spoken Word Artist and History teacher from East London focused on sharing her thoughts on gender issues, mental health stigma and the postcolonial immigrant experience. Jaspreet actively works with national governments, corporations and charities alike, such as TED, the UN and women’s networks across the UK, using her poetry to inspire and drive social change. Her TED talk, “How Poetry Saved My Life” is one of many examples of this. She is also an avid humanitarian and is an ambassador for Binti International and Time to Change. Jaspreet is currently working on her first book, a narrative non-fiction to be released in 2021.
